In today’s world of generative AI, designers and illustrators have to get creative when incentivizing clients to use the longer, more expensive, laborious process of working with a designer. I aim to add a unique, human approach to all of my designs that appeals to others that the cold nature of AI cannot achieve.

Using hand drawn assets and flourished text, the cover of Kathleen Allure’s debut novel ‘Appointment with Destiny’ appeals to all lovers of romance novels. Kathleen had a strong view of her characters and how she wanted to showcase them through the cover.

As an avid reader myself, I understand the importance of a book’s cover design and grabbing the attention of readers as quickly as possible in order to increase sales and intrigue. Designers have to thread the needle of being unique and not just another cover, and staying within the realm of what readers expect to see on their shelves.
